Health Care Statistics

60% Bankruptcies are due to medical bills. More than 75% of these bankrupt families ahd health insurance but still were overwhelmed by their medical debts.

92% of medical debtors had debts more than $5,000.

25% of firms cancel coverage immediately when an employee suffers a disabling illness; about another 25% do so within a year.

We have a BROKEN health care system. It will take a major change in thinking differently, not just doing more of the same things.

Wellness Newsletter Exerpts

This year’s group was made up of four chiropractors and a geologist and we couldn’t come up with the punch line for a joke we were trying to make: Four chiropractors and a geologist walked into…

We rode up through Washington and into Idaho and the last day began from Joseph and rode down through small towns like Long Creek, Mitchell, and Prineville. The last day we rode 450 miles — 12 hours on the road, which is 9 longer than, I prefer. But I had three insights that I pondered on this 1,200 mile ride.

Riding a ridge on the way to Walla Walla, Washington. This was one of the rare times I’m not looking at the scenery. It was a few miles down this very road that I had a nice, friendly conversation with a state trooper, who wanted to talk to me. He gave me some good, helpful advice while riding in Washington. In the Eastern part of the state where we were heading he said the Meth problem is out of control. College kids go to campgrounds and have parties and it wasn’t unusual to bust almost any group they came across.

The first lesson was about food. When you are on the road you often do not have choices you usually have so for the first time in about three years I had a cheeseburger and fries — for breakfast! I know. It was in Spray and burgers were the only food on their menu. Many people have these things every week, so what’s one every three years? I assumed that the beef was local because there were many ranches in the area. The hamburger that you get in fast food places is usually from South America and is mixed from several different farms. So my first lesson was; sometimes you just have to eat what’s on the menu. If you eat well most the time then the times when you have no choice will be okay. You’ll get by.

Swine Flu

The story of swine flu marks
another fiasco in the world of
health and medicine. You have
to understand all that surrounds
the politics, power, and money
in an epidemic. Remember the
Avian Bird Flu pandemic? I
spoke and wrote about this
when it first broke and told you
it would be gone in a few years.
It is. I knew there would be
another scare—there always is—
but I never thought it would be
so soon.

Flu Shots

Three Reasons to Reconsider Flu Shots

There are three major reasons why this government push to vaccinate 84 percent of the U.S. population with a yearly flu vaccine is so incomprehensible:

1. The majority of flu shots contain 25 micrograms of mercury; an amount considered unsafe for anyone weighing less than 550 pounds! And which groups are most sensitive to the neurological damage that has been associated with mercury? Infants, children, and the elderly.

2. No studies have conclusively proven that flu shots prevent flu-related deaths among the elderly, yet this is one of the key groups to which they’re pushed.

3. If you get a flu shot, you can still get the flu (or flu-like symptoms). This is because it only protects against certain strains, and it’s anyone’s guess which flu viruses will be in your area.

Another influenza season is beginning, and the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will strongly urge Americans to get a flu shot. In fact, the CDC mounts a well-orchestrated campaign each season to generate interest and demand for flu shots.

But a recent study published in the October issue of the Archives of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine found that vaccinating young children against the flu appeared to have no impact on flu-related hospitalizations or doctor visits during two recent flu seasons.

At first glance, the data did suggest that children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years derived some protection from vaccination in these years. But after adjusting for potentially relevant variables, the researchers concluded that "significant influenza vaccine effectiveness could not be demonstrated for any season, age, or setting" examined.

Additionally, a Group Health study found that flu shots do not protect elderly people against developing pneumonia -- the primary cause of death resulting as a complication of the flu. Others have questioned whether there is any mortality benefit with influenza vaccination. Vaccination coverage among the elderly increased from 15 percent in 1980 to 65 percent now, but there has been no decrease
in deaths from influenza or pneumonia.

There is some evidence that flu shots cause Alzheimer’s disease, most likely as a result of combining mercury with aluminum and formaldehyde. Mercury in vaccines has also been implicated as a cause of autism.

Three other serious adverse reactions to the flu vaccine are joint inflammation and arthritis, anaphylactic shock (and other life-threatening allergic reactions), and Guillain-Barré syndrome, a paralytic autoimmune disease.

One credible hypothesis that explains the seasonal nature of flu is that influenza is a vitamin D
deficiency disease.
Vitamin D levels in your blood fall to their lowest point during flu seasons. Unable to be protected by the body’s own antibiotics (antimicrobial peptides) that are released by vitamin D, a person with a low vitamin D blood level is more vulnerable to contracting colds, influenza, and other respiratory infections.

Studies show that children with rickets, a vitamin D-deficient skeletal disorder, suffer from frequent respiratory infections, and children exposed to sunlight are less likely to get a cold. The increased number of deaths that occur in winter, largely from pneumonia and cardiovascular diseases, are most likely due to vitamin D deficiency.

Unfortunately, now, for the first time, flu vaccination is also being pushed for virtually all children -- not just those under 5.

This is a huge change. Previously, flu vaccine was recommended only for youngsters under 5, who can become dangerously ill from influenza. This year, the government is recommending that children from age 6 months to 18 years be vaccinated, expanding inoculations to 30 million more school-age children.

The government argues that while older children seldom get as sick as the younger ones, it's a bigger population that catches flu at higher rates, so the change should cut missed school, and parents' missed work when they catch the illness from their children.

Of course, this policy ignores the fact that a systematic review of 51 studies involving 260,000 children age 6 to 23 months found no evidence that the flu vaccine is any more effective than a placebo.

What to do.
Take vitamin D or get some sun or exposure to ultraviolet light like a tanning
Take a dosage of 1,000 International units of vitamin D per pound of body weight. Take every day for three days.

Please RSVP

The world is changing fast and the health hazards caused by these changes have been realized only within the last few years. Cell phones, computers, and even power lines in our back yard, detrimentally affect our bodies. There are also many new toxic chemicals in our air, water, and food to just name a few. Our food is nutrient deficient and even genetically modified.

Categorically, there are Six Causes of Subluxation or ill-health (working singly or in tandem) that may afflict you:

1) Structural problems that are often triggered from physical trauma such at a slip and fall, work injury, or car accident.

2) Electrical Pollution is serious these days with computers, cell phones, power lines, etc.

3) Nutrition is an important consideration due to all of the junk food, empty calories, and preservatives. We must learn proper eating habits and proper supplementation.

4) Allergies and Sensitivities must be evaluated due to the stressors in the environment both external and internal of an increasing nature.

5) Emotional Stress is at an all time high and must be addressed to allow correction of subluxations and allow them to stay corrected.

6) Toxins are constantly increasing in our air, food and water and our body burdens must be addressed and detoxified.

Responding to these health interferences, we are coupled with the obligation to improve and optimize the lives of you who have entrusted us with your care. The following set of statements may well be your own as they embody the promise relief with the Six Steps to Wellness:

"Chiropractic, since 1885, has given patients hope and help many times when they have given up on all other forms of the healing arts. Our doctor and this office is one of the best in the world because we have found there are SIX CAUSES OF SUBLUXATIONS that rob you and your family of the health and wellness you deserve. This office does special testing and treatment to identify and correct the causes of the interference and the subluxations at the same time to allow the greatest chance for success in healing."

Since you are partners with your health, your education is a key factor in the healing process. Just about everyone is very anxious to have all their health problems "cured" in a 15-20 minute office visit. While we are going to address your "aches and pains," we're also going to give you what you need: "total wellness care."

We are going to deal with the entire you, not just the part that you notice. Since your whole body knows what's going on and since you have run into healing interferences, we're going to work on the combinations that you need to get better and stay well.

This is the type of care the world is ready and has been waiting for. You get it!

Sincerely,

Dr Peter Lind

Chiropractic Wellness

There are two kinds of chiropractic health care.

1. Traditional chiropractic which is adjusting and includes all components of the subluxation

2. Wellness chiropractic which is addressing the cause of subluxation. This includes adjusting plus helping correct faulty electromagnetics, nutrition, toxins, allergies, emotions, bioenergy, and the neuromusculo-skeletal problems.

The issue for the chiropractor is finding the type of chiropractic that one is comfortable in delivering and making it available to the public.

It is November and this is "the season." You know, the cold and flu season. They're all talking about it.

But instead of performing measures that violate natural law, like "get the flu shot" or "drink plenty of juice", think about what the body needs. There was a time change that you're going to have to get used to. If you eat garden food, like you should be, you're going to have to get used to the changes in seasonal foods. And are you getting an adequate amount of rest and sleep? How's your stress level?

What I'm getting at is there are many changes your body is going through. If you don't prepare yourself, you're going to fall into one that must find his or her way in the "mist of the season."
